Johnny Robinson is a graduate of the Illustration Program at Syracuse University (masters degree), and teacher of film and animation at Rochester Institute of Technology. We are glad to have Johnny, a founder of Open Figure Drawing, with us during our 20th Anniversary.

Johnny began his career in San Franscisco, as a film maker. In the 1980's he turned to graphic design and illustration, earning degrees at Syracuse Univeristy, and began running Open Figure Drawing. In 1991 he started working as an animator, later working on TV commercials and games for Animotion, a local animation company in Syracuse. Johnny began teaching animation at Rochester Institute of Technology in 1999, where he currently works, and served as Animation Department Chair from 2000 to 2003.
