Sharon BuMann's work is represented in numerous public and private collections throughout the United States and abroad. She has done several public and private commissions, including architectural collaborations. Sharon has participated in juried shows and won awards for her work. She is listed in Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who In The World. She has chaired and juried art shows, given lectures and public sculpture demonstrations. Sharon has received grants to produce public sculptures. In 1988 BuMann won a National Competition, to design and create the "Jerry Rescue Memorial" (an Abolitionist Monument) for the City of Syracuse, New York, unveiled August 10, 1990. She traveled to Rome, Italy to do research for a commissioned sculpture of Saint Peter. In 1993 BuMann was involved with the sculptural design work for the renovated exterior of the Onondaga County War Memorial. She has a religious monument of "Mary Presenting Child", at St. Agnes Parish, Brewerton, New York and one at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Auburn, NY. For the past 18 years Sharon has been traveling to create "Life-size Butter Sculptures" at various State Fairs around the country. To her credit, she has created butter sculptures for New York State Fair, Syracuse, NY, The State Fair of Texas in Dallas, TX, Tulsa State Fair in OK, Erie County Fair in Hamburg, NY, Kansas State Fair, Hutchinson, KS and New York City.

Ms. BuMann has been working as a professional sculptor since 1977. Her educational background includes a degree in Graphic Art, a BFA in sculpture, Graduate courses at Lyme Academy, Old Lyme, CT, medical courses, workshops and independent study with various artists, and professional sculptors across the United States. Sharon also teaches figure sculpture courses. She is a professor of sculpture at LeMoyne College. Sharon owns and operates BuMann Sculpture Studio and Technical Restoration Services (a sub-division that restores existing bronze works)
Sharon BuMann's sculpture mediums include bronze, casting resins, porcelain, terra-cotta, concrete and butter. Her sculptures are traditional in technique, figurative and narrative in nature. She tends toward equestrian, historical, and genre' subject matter. BuMann has a strong interest in the "Civil War Period". BuMann is adept in portraiture and 3-D design. Her work ranges in scale from miniature to monumental, free-standing as well as bas-relief.
Sharon BuMann was born June 28, 1953 in Syracuse, New York. She works and resides in Central Square, New York. She has one son who is a naturalist/sculptor in Gardiner, MT and one daughter, a nurse in Buffalo, NY.
