Welcome! About us

Offering drawing experiences since 1989.

Please read our COVID related rules.

Mission Statement

We are an incorporated nonprofit 501(c)(3) art organization, run by a board of directors and volunteer hosts. Money collected goes to paying the model, the rent, and for snacks. Any surplus goes toward equipment and a slush fund for less populated nights.

Location

The Westcott Community Center, corner of Euclid and Westcott Streets.
We are on the second floor. Come in the main entrance and up the elevator or stairs on the left. Bring a friend!

When

We are open every Wednesday night from 7 to 10 pm.

We are closed if any of the following fall on a Wednesday: Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve & New Year’s day.

We usually hold 2 Sunday sessions a month, from 1 to 3 pm.

Check our calendar for the exact dates.

Weather Related Closings

OFD determines sessions cancellations based on the weather. If a host and a model are able to make to the WCC we will hold a session. If the weather is bad, we will update our website, Facebook page, & send an email to our mailing list by 5:30 pm on Wednesdays to keep everyone appraised. If there is no update, then we are open. If you are unsure, call Dan after 5:30 pm for an answer.

For our weekend sessions, visit our website to see if we are closing due to the weather. We will have updates as soon as we can. You can also subscribe to our mailing list or follow us on Facebook.

Price

The fee is $12.00 per session.

New participants, your 1st visit is FREE!

A punch card, good for 5 visits, is available at the door for $48*.

Correct change is appreciated but not necessary. Make checks payable to Open Figure Drawing Inc.

*Every punch card comes with a coupon for 10% off at The Art Store (Commercial Art Supply). If you already receive a discount, such as a student or senior discount, this coupon gives you an additional 10% off your already discounted price.

Equipment is stored in the closet opposite the sign-in table. We have a dozen drawing tables, even more easels, and numerous drawing boards. Please return items when finished. There is a small supply of paper and drawing supplies for emergencies and new participants.

The restroom is located in the rear of the building. Please help us and the WCC keep the restroom clean.

Trash is near the door to the WCC gallery (unless someone has moved it).

We strive to be chemical free. Please use fixatives outside of the building. Please keep smelly or noxious materials at home, including perfumes, markers, and all forms of turpentine and other toxins.

Recording devices such as cameras are not permitted.

Do not use cell phones during any part of the session.

Quiet talk is permitted but please be respectful of your neighbors.

Participants under 18 should provide a parental permission form.
