ARTIST STATEMENT:
Our society has the power to see inside cells - to look at the surface of Mars, yet we face controversy turning our vision onto ourselves.
For several centuries, the issue of revealing what is culturally hidden has been part of the roles of the artistic community.
As a figure artist, I follow an almost inherent urge to represent our true nature, to document the human form, and to find elegant and simple drawing solutions that please the eye.
The issues that currently envelop nudity do not interest me; I look to my subject with the same eye as the landscape artist sees the sunset, or the still life artist sees a flower. I do my best to place on paper a translation of what is before me, and let the viewers interpret, as they will.
