The drawing sessions start with 5 two minute gestures, and continues with 3 forty-five minutes poses.
The 1st forty-five minute pose will start soon after the end of the gestures. The rest of the poses will have long enough breaks to be able to start the 2nd & 3rd poses at the top of the hour.

This session replaces Long Pose (nude) on Sunday for the month of August.
Our drawing site is a private wooded spot with gardens and fields.
Bring a folding chair, hat, sunglasses, insect repellent and your favorite materials. We’ll provide easels and drawing boards. We’ll picnic with the usual snacks provided at OFD Wednesday night sessions.
Potluck Dinner: Bring a dish and family or friend for a Pot Luck held immediately after drawing! BYOB.
Rules and prices for Wednesday night drawing sessions apply.
It can be about 10 degrees colder, so dress appropriately. Bring a jacket if you are staying for the potluck.
As with the all session at Delavan Studios, participants under 18 need to provide parental permission.
In case of rain or other types of fowl weather, we will meet in the property owner’s drawing studio, and have our picnic on the porch.

Thursday, August 20, 2026, 7 – 9 pm

Speed drawing trains participants to capture the character of their partner. It is a new networking event for artists in the community.
As participants check in, they choose desks. Two people site at opposite sides of the desk. At 7 pm, anyone who doesn’t have a partner will be assigned one by the host.
Once the session begins, half the artists draw the person across the table from them, and half pose for 10 or 20 minutes. They are encouraged to get to know each other in the process. When the the time is up, partners will switch who draws and who poses.
When both people have drawn, one artist moves to the right, and one stays where they are.
Think of “Speed Dating” and you’ll get an idea of where the name comes from.

Wednesday on Sunday follows the same series of poses as our regular Wednesday night Figure Drawing session, except, if there are 2 Wednesday on Sundays in a month, than for the 2nd one, the model is clothed.

In our founder George Benedict’s memory we encourage anyone who has participated in the Just Desserts Portrait sessions, either here at the Open Figure Drawing’s Delevan studio or at Christine’s home, to submit up to three portrait pieces for our non-juried exhibit.
Deadline For submissions is Saturday, June 20th. Please bring work in on our Thursday, June 11th session.

Rules:
- Anyone who has participated in a Just Desserts Art Guild drawing session within the part year can submit 2D artwork.
Artwork can be from any year. - How To Enter. Submit an entry form with your artwork.
- Deliver artwork to Delavan Studios by Saturday, by June 20, 10 am – 1 pm, during the Saturday Morning session. You can submit up to 3 pieces.
The show ends on Thursday, September 10, during a Just Desserts Art Guild drawing session. - Identify your artwork. Artwork must have identification and contact information on the back. The entry form has labels that you can attach to the back of your artwork to identify it.
- Artwork must be framed and ready to hang from our hanging system.
- Work can be for sale, but does not have to be. Open Figure Drawing takes a 10% commission on all sales.
The 2025 Group Shows Catalog contains artwork from 3 different shows, Portrait Show, Anything but People, and Fashion Show. It contains 97 artwork submissions by 33 artists. It is one of our largest catalogs: 11 x 8.5 ” and 72 pages.
